This is the super stocking my Stocking Fairy gave me .. and, yes, ALL these things were inside it!!! Unfortunately at the moment I do not know who she is .. I cannot find a card/name anywhere I shall have to find out and thenk her later.

A sort of "blendy-collagy" thingy ... experimenting with how to blend piccies into each other ... not too sure how best to do it, but I'm getting there .. I think!!

Thursday, September 03, 2009

These are my contributions to the "Fairy Door" swap on UKS.
Gossamer's Gateway ... papier mache, Angel Hair, lustre paints and a butterfly:
Peri's Palace .... an embedded transparency from a brooch, clear glaze to make the window, paints and Stickles to make the "jewells":
Fuegon's Forge .... a gnome's door .. card covered in heat treated copper sheet to get a blend of colours, inscribed and treated with alcohol inks.
I hope they will be OK .. I enjoyed making them.

This is my returned jiggy .... one more piece to come but otherwise complete.
I LOVE IT ... so many different interpretations of Native American ... and such care and attention given to each piece. THANK YOU LADIES.

This is the 8x8 jiggy we are doing on UKS. I am rather pleased how it turned out.
Top: Pinkster_ piccy, Paddy _ Time, Mine _ Native American.
Middle: dotty_dotty _ Seaside, weaselwise _ Witchcraft, dusty fairy _ cupcakes.
Bottom: Princess Fiona _ En Francais, Material Girl _ Thought for the Day, AliBlack _ Winged Vintage Ladies.

This is the "page" I have made for Gill ... entitled "Home".

It's based on a Google Earth map ... though that is a bit vague now ... made of silk and metallic fabrics, beads and cotton perle threads, with a few viscose/lace motifs.

Monday, June 29, 2009

A couple of times the kind people who have left comments for me have asked if the piccy could be a bit bigger ..... this one is, so is that better?

Another Artarazzi challenge, this time courtesy of Faye .. thank you.
Somehow I can never seem to get past Van Gogh when I see sunflowers ... maybe because he painted so many pictures of them!!!
I extracted some leaves and parts of the flower for this one .. added a shadow to give some depth and then ... well, then my silly side took over!!!!

It's that time again .. another challenge from this time from Kelly, thanks for the inspiration. The empty ladder immediately made me want to fill it ...though not climb it personally as I am scared stiff of heights!!!!
The legs are from my "this is interesting" stash and the shards of glass are homemade in PSE4.

Whoa ... these challenges come around sooooo fast!!! Or maybe I'm getting too slow?
This is another Artarazzi challenge ... "You Give Me Fever" - a modern miss in a very modern stance!!.
I made a porcelain doll costumed as Morgana La Fay .. with a very similar stance ...hence the Medieval take on this one. The emblems on her sleeves and the stars either side of alLure spell out L in semaphore ..thanks to the arm placement .. so that gave me the title and "feel" too.

Another week, another Artarazzi challenge ... entitled Moon.
I have added a halo to the moon, coloured and layered the child and written a little ditty to tell her tale.
Edited to show verse.
verse reads:-The moon looked sad and it seemed to me, that he would like some company, So I took the lantern and a candle, but dropped them both when I broke the handle, So now the moon is sad AND blue, and, like him, I feel that way too!

Time for another challenge from Artarazzi ... this one is a fingerprint!!

I was wondering what I could do, not getting very far and probably slightly day-dreaming when I started to see depth in the print. Isobars on weather maps? Contour lines on maps? A tunnel? !! yeah!

So here is my tunnell/hole - tree rings and all ... being explored by an intrepid team of ashbseilers.

I think it must be an age thing .. but don't the weeks just fly by? !!

This is another challenge from Artarazzi ... a rusty, rivited outlet.
As soon as I saw it I could see a face in the pattern of rust ...but
who's was it? And then it hit me .. Darth Vader!! Hence the ATC ...
and the pun on the name. (sorry!)

Another page for the same cj .. this time for Chrissie .. entitled Mermaid (now I wonder why!!!)

The background was supplied and inspired a watery theme ... the mermaid is made of Angelina and fabric paints, some with a mettalic element. The "pearls" are sequins sewn down with pearlised thread, and two outline embroidered fish keep her company. The water weed is braid and feather stitch and a few strands of Angelina over the top finish it off.

This is my page in the Spontaneous Fabric cj , made for Sarah and entitled We Are One.
The background is metallic silk; I joined two pictures and used a filter on them to give the You/Me image. The knotted braid is handmade and the piece of silk brocade is held down with Guilloche embroidery.

Another week gone and it's time for the next challenge from .... the children were taken from a advertisement .... and I have extracted them in three sets, added colour and wings and foisted them on this poor fox!!!

Friday, May 15, 2009

Last set!! These are for me .. Native Americans .... Hopi in fact. The stamp is of three Kachina dolls and I have masked some of them to give a variety of placements. The photos were trimmed and shaped and I have added feathers and chain to echo the photos.

I am pleased with the results of my first "Deco" page swap .. I hope my fellow swappees are too.

Only two sets to go now ... this one is Vintage Ladies .. for Sheila.
The first one has a genuine stamp ... although it is a masked version of a larger one ... placed vertically on the side. The photo is an old postcard of real people .. unfortunately I don't know who they are, but I think they look like three generations of the same family ..... and the lace and background are digi.
The second one uses a "brackets" stamp to enclose the photo .. also a postcard ... with the rest digi plus a marker pen vine overlaid with Glossy Accents.

Getting along nicely now .... these are for Netty - Secret Garden - and both have "openings" to pick up on the "secret" bit. The gates were done on transparency so that I could use a "proper" stamp, and the background is all done with brushes on the compy. The birdie is a stamp, again on transparency, the background has scanned pressed flowers and brushed colours with two "real" stamps (gosh with the birdie that makes three on one page!!!!!) the blue flowers and the swirls. Will this do, Netty?

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Had a sudden rush of inspiration, and as these don't come very often I just had to go with the flow, now didn't I?
These are also for the "Deco" page swap ... Cynthia's "Wild Animals" ... and they don't come much wilder than an angry rhino!!! The stamp is genuine on these ... I drive a Suzuki and it's there badge ... and the symbols on the blue page are Adingo .. a language in Swaziland.

Yipee, another set finished ... these are "Animals" for Angel. The only animal stamps I have are these cats and one "wild animal" (which I'm using on another page!!) ... so that's what I did!
the "cattitude" one seemed so appropriate for the picture but wasn't large enough so that one had the digi treatment; the puddytat one is the genuine article.
For the other page the first stamp on the left is real ... the others are digified ... counter coloured to match the pussies in the piccy.

Monday, May 11, 2009

These are my second set of "Deco" pages .. this time for Racel .. Oriental.
Again, I didn't have a suitable stamp, so I have used a very small frame one, scanned and enlarged it and used it, as intended, to frame the pictures. The "Haiku" poems I did myself, hence the signatures.... they aren't very good but at least they fit the "syllable" rules!!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Thia is another super challenge from ... a background
of carved cherry blossom.
Being a total Dragon fanatic I have voided some
of the original background and added a
baby dragon playing among the fronds. Then I
put a black background behind it to emphasise
the gorgeous carving.

Thursday, May 07, 2009

This is the second one ... the stamp on this one is the
"wavy" effect ..... a small stamp which I scanned , joined
three together and used the result twice printed onto a
transparency and laid over the page. The background is pure digi ... a paper, the fish and whales added from all
sorts of places, the photo of the deep sea angler fish mounted on sticky pads as is the title.
This is one of two "Deco" pages I have done for Sandy.
We are supposed to use a stamp of some kind on each one and as I am a digi scrapper I have had to do a bit of
manipulating to get the effect of stamping!! The fish border is an actual stamp ... but it was the wrong size ... so I stamped it, scanned it, resized and re-coloured it and used a "foam stamp" effect on the results. I added the sharks to the photo and mounted it on sticky pads.

I hope it is acceptable, Sandy ... will this do for a
"Deco" page?

Monday, May 04, 2009

Yet another beautiful picture from Artarazzi for inspiration.... Spring Flowers.
At first I had no idea what to do ... nothing seemed to come from it ... and then I asked myself what kind of flowers she had gathered .. oh course!! Narcissus!!!!
Hence the young man, enamoured of his own reflexion, who pined away from unrequited love and turned into the Narcissus..... leaving behind the nymph who loved him .. with no hope of return ... who could only reply to his remarks by repeating the last words ...Echo.

Friday, May 01, 2009

Very late this week with my version of the challenge at ... all due to the compy
getting measles!! The graphics card gave up the ghost and
needed replacing (ouch!!) .... but here she is at last ...
Blackbird. The blue eggs in the nest are blackbird eggs,
and I found myself singing the Beatles
song to myself .. hence this ATC.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

These challenges from come around soooo fast ... this one, a mannequin head entitled Despair ... had me stumped for a while, but I think I've got the gist now.
I took more and more colour from her as she came towards us ... until you can see the huddled man reflected in her eye ... cirled in on himself for protection and camouflage.

Sunday, April 12, 2009

How time flies ( a bit like the bats in this piccie!!).
This is my version of the stunning piece by Boris Vallejo set as the challenge at . I have added a diferent background, three small bats, and intensified the "pale but dangerous" look with pale blue eyes, a starred highlight and rouged (with what, I wonder?) lips.

Saturday, April 04, 2009

Another week gone and time for another challenge on .. this one is by Tracey. I've kept it fairly simple ... posterized the seagull a little and joined four of him together as a kite chain. I left the main seagull as he was. I wonder what he made of this man-made intrusion?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

All done!! The single is piece number 9, Bluebirds for Natasha .. and the other one is, obviously, all the pieces put together. They just need signing and sending to Netty .. then she has the monumental task of assembling eveyone's jiggy and sending them back to the owners!!!

Monday, March 30, 2009

Nearly all done ... this is number 8, Butterflies & Dragonflies (with one fairy for luck) for Becky. A double layer of butterflies and "shadowed" dragonflies with a single, high flying fairy, for the digi background and then a dragonfly, and two butterflies - one repainted and one home made - as the raised elements.

I really had to think about this challenge from Artarazzi .... the ladies are gorgeous, but how do you make them "different"? I hope I have done enough to make them interesting. The swirls are taken from the background and intertwined with the dancers, as is the writing.

Friday, March 27, 2009

These .. obviously!! .. are some more jiggy pieces! A middle piece, Flora/Fauna for Lis: middle left piece - Woodland for Suzie and bottom right piece - Vintage type Love for Sabina.
Only two to go now .. hope they go as smoothly as these others.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

OK, this is number 4 .. Travel for Sonja. Digi background .. but you guessed it would be, didn't you? ... with raised panorama and postcard and a label with Polynesian fishing hook and Camel Tassels hanging from it.

Monday, March 23, 2009

Another super challenge piccy from .... and she reminded me soo much of Russian fairy tale princesses .. so I did her as Vasilissa in the Firebird.
