These are the latest chunkies for my "Chunky for bits .. " on UKS.  The top one .. "Flute" is for TeddySoo whose puddytat died recently after a long and happy life with her and the family.
T'other one is also cat themed .. for Xmasbaby.  She wanted Quirky cats, so I have used cartoon characters - Tom & Jerry, Sylvester and TweetyPie, Felix, Puss in Boots, Garfield and the Cheshire Cat !!   Both lasdies have received their chunkies and seem quite pleased with my efforts!  Great.

Two more from my "chunky for bits" thread on UKS .... Steampunk Christmas for Ally50 and Victorian Ladies for scrappyyo .  I must be doing something right as this is her second one!

Apparently the chunkies have arrived and both ladies like my offerings ..phew! I can breathe again.

Having made chunkies for Rebecca and Yolanda, I was really excited to be taken up on my offer of "a chunky for bits" by Jo and Susan - from Country View Crafts!  Jo wanted blooms/vintage/art and Susan asked for Male/time/fantasy.   So these are the results. The first one is Susan's .. based on James Bond -- how much more "male fantasy" can you get?? .. see how many stories/films you can find.
T'other one is a Victorian lady, Picasso's idea of an elegant lady and lots of roses.

I hope they like them.

Anyone like a chunky for themselves???  Find me on UKS as new2this.

This is t'other one .. for Gail whose theme was Victorian Christmas.   Once the tree was subdued into place, it all seemed to run smoothly .. and I think it came out quite well.

This is the chunky for Lou .. her theme is the Snow Queen.  By sheer fluke it arrived on her birthday ... and she liked it!!!  How good id that!?

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Another one for Rebecca .. who has been very patient, waiting for me to do this one.
She had asked for Vintage Circus .. so I hope that is what I've achieved.  Enjoy!

This is my "Altered Sardine Tin" !  My swappe, LorraineS chose Smoke & Mirrors as her theme ... so my lady is being levitated by her companion!!  There are a couple of small mirrors - you can just see the diamond shaped outline of one of them - and the rabbit from the hat gives a clue to the trickery involved!!  It isn't quite as dark and sombre as this in real life .. just a smoky, swirly effect with Tim's alcohol inks.

You may have gathered by now that I LURVE making "Chunkies" !!  Well, I asked some friends if I could make them one, to their own theme, in return for bits and pieces suitable for making either more chunkies(!!) or other altered items.   Two of them, Rebecca and Yolanda were kind enough to take me up on my offer ... and these are the results.

The top one is Vintage/Steampunk for Yolanda; Rebecca  said she likes Sideshows/circus/gypsy fortune tellers or anything out of the ordinary.  So what did she get?  Houdini  !!  Hope they like them.

Anyone else want to take up my offer?

These are my cards for the October swap on UKS ... theme - Freaky!!   They are all digi .. using a Deviantscrap background and Octopode digi-stamps.

This is the lovely chunky Sara/Pinkster made for me for the halloween swap of UKS.  My theme was Light and Dark .. I don't really like Halloween so this was as near as I came!!  I think its gorgeous.

Monday, September 24, 2012

I can't seem to stop making these!!  I found the helmet in a charity shop .. but as it was rather big to go on the top of a chunky I took the saw to it and  placed the larger half at the top and the "face" bit on the back
The sheilds are button/brads backed with leather, metal shimms or charm frames and then painted with alcohol inks.  A couple of barbecue sticks and some foil made the spears.  The rest is paper in various guises!!.

Just a little Tree Decoration for a swap on UKS.  It came out quite well .. a thin metal ring on a hanger with two double sided fir trees attached which I embossed and glittered.

I love making "chunkies", so for the latest round .. no. 4 ... I asked to do two.  These are the result ... I'm not saying who they are for but as the themes are Halloween, Witches, Pumpkins, Skeletons and "dark" things in general, these two could be anyones!!!

I was searching for something entirely different when I found these .. as you do!  I made the barettes from surplus buttons, jewellery and chain ... I had very long hair at the time and these worked a treat.
The little bags are based on ariel photos of a river delta and an African village and surroundings.  Made with silk, leather, metallic threads and hand made braids and tassells.
I'm pleased with the way the came out. .. though I remember it was hard on the fingers!!
This is the super Domino Book made for me by Rosiemac .... my theme was Oriental, and I think she did me proud, I love it.
These are the cards .. based on books .. I did for an UKS swap.  The "rock on" one is for the host, Sian.  The others , I think, speak for themselves.

In the recent Tinchies swap, Chris's first parcel went AWOL .. we had the builders in at the time ... so she very kindly made me another one.  Of course, we then found the first one .. so I now have two gorgeous Tinchies - and this is the one I have made as a thank you.

There are 10 pages like the examples here, and the little tags are Tim's foundation pieces with vehicles etc on Safmat.(getting both sides aligned was a bit tricky!!)

I hope she likes it.

This is my offering for Yolanda in the Secret Vices swap.   There is a Kindle reading in bed .. a romantic file for it, lots of empty packets of Cheese and Onion crisps and stacks of stash scatterd about.  The drawers have a selection of buttons and fasteners and Steampunk type things, including four scaled doen Ocopode people.  I hope she likes it.

This is my Domino book for Moypoy , her theme? .. The Owl and the Pussycat.
I used alcohol inks on the dominos and printed the words of the poem, together with relevant (I hope) images from digital kits , onto two strips of parchment type paper joined together like a concertina.
I don't like ribbon closures much .. too fiddly for me .. so I added some shaped side pieces and thin magnets which hold it together rather well.  You just pull, gently, and it opens up.

I hope she likes it.

This is the totally gorgeous "Medieval" chunky that Jaykay made for me ....and the box it came in, together with the extra "pages" are a super bonus.  Aren't I the lucky one??!!!

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

These are my ATCs for the Grimm's swap ...The Crystal Ball, The Robber's Treasure and the Witch in the Wood.  They are all digi ... with the titles on the back so you don't have to guess!

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

This is my version of an ATC Chunky for Rebecca .. Alchemy/Apothecary.  It is based on those children's pictures of Wizards in their lairs with the obligatory crocodile hanging from the ceiling!!     There is a phoenix rising out of the steam and flying off round the side.  The Apothecary side has herby bits and pieces .. and the legs are a mixture of the two - flowerpots and chalices.   I hope she likes it.

This is the "frame" I have made for scrapnanny.  Its based on a Timmy configurations box, but as I didn't have one, I made this from chipboard with a heavyweight card lid -- missing the middle, of course!
Her theme was "Nature - light hearted" ... so this old postcard with tap dancing sheep on the roof of the caravan seemed just the job!  The title says it all .... Did You Hear Hailstones?

Saturday, May 26, 2012

I found this cross in a charity shop,
and knew at once that it had to be
used on a Chunky ATC.  It reminded
me of Spanish Treasure, hence the
chest and galleon!!  This one is all
mine, not made for a swap.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

This is the Tinchie I have made for Xmasbaby .. her theme was Time/Vintage  .. so I hope this fits the bill.

chunky - the sequel

This is the Chunky ATC I've done for Hotluca.  Her theme was "silent movies, glamorous women and the charleston".  I hope she will like it.

OK, these are the last two;
lou@papermaker's Silhouette
& Songs; and Voodoo Vixen's
Words & Definitions. That
makes me up to date ..
to September, actually!! ..
for this swap. You just
have to go with the flow, don't you?!!
